This is something that I have been wanting to do for quiet a while but have not had the time or capacity to work on. Now that I have had some time, I have managed to write a first book on a couple of the foundations of business: Mentorship and Processes.
Much of what I find myself doing over the years with friends, employees or people I meet is, translating. By "Translating" I mean taking an idea and finding a concept they already understand and translating the new material into that individuals know language.
Check out the first book here and feel free to leave some feedback.
Some fun things that I have run into with this project has been
Considering the whole "ecosystem" of kids materials
Books (Picture books mainly)
Games (2d, 3d, board, card, etc)
Shows (Animation)
School education
Simplifying the art style for kids 5-7 years old
Played around with an intro song considering only using instaments used in a typical elementry school
Voice
Shaker
Rhythm sticks
Xylophone / Glockenspiels
Hand drum
Ukulele
Triangle
I have really enjoyed the education idea because it sets interesting constrains like "How do you teach the basics of anatomy to a 5 year old, while not having to make it 100% correct?" or "How do you create materials that set kids up for success to help motivate continued learning?"
Why kids books? I love kids...and adults. materials need to be relatable to be use full. Have you ever learned something and then not tried it? Normally unfutunetly it is because of a fear of failure or having to invest "to much time" to become good at a new skill (I call this one "getting old"). Also materials that are really good for children should appeal to adults in some form because adults are typically the ones that have teach the kids.
